The Shaft (a Minesweeper Game)
Deep at the bottom of sinkhole a mysterious elevator shaft is discovered. Who put it there? What lies at the bottom? Descend floor by floor solving increasingly difficult minesweeper puzzles to reveal the mystery....
Controls
Reveal Cell: Left-click or press
Flag Cell: Right-click OR Ctrl+Left-click OR Long press/left-click
The game sort-of works on Mobile; the main issue is the screen size tends to be too small, and there's no zoom. It works better on tablet, with desktop or laptop plus a mouse the best setup.
Floors
There are 12 floors you must complete to finish the game and reveal the mystery. Your progress is saved between floors so you don't need to do it in a single sitting. When you die, your progress is reset.
Shields
If you beat each puzzle in the target time in the top left, you gain a shield. Shields can be deployed to protect you once from an exploded mine. Shields cannot be re-used, and deployed shields are removed at the end of each stage - so plan your shield use carefully!
Guessing
The game contains a mix of "guess" and "no-guess" puzzles. No-guess puzzles can be solved without having to guess and are indicated by "Solution Found" in the header. Sometimes the solution is no-guess, but not obvious. See this reddit post for an example of at least one type of no-guess scenario that is not immediately obvious.
Every so often you will get a "guess" puzzle that requires at least one guess to solve. These are indicated by the red "No Solution" header.
